Founder & Board of Directors
Mallory Dwinal Palisch, PhD
Founder & Senior Advisor
Mallory Dwinal-Palisch, co-founder of Reach University, currently serves as senior advisor to the president. Mallory began her career as a teacher with Teach for America and later co-founded an experiential learning high school, Oxford Day Academy, a charter school in East Palo Alto, CA. Watching her students thrive in these real-world learning environments inspired Mallory to co-found Reach University as a way to address the urgent teacher shortages in America's K12 classrooms while at the same time providing a new avenue to higher education for workers in underserved communities. By focusing on low-income and rural regions, offering online tutorials and classes, and rendering academic credit for on-the-job experience, Reach has in only three years become a nationwide model for eliminating barriers to entry in the teaching profession and building local talent pipelines.
Mallory founded Craft Education System (acquired by Western Governors University), a software tool that helps other universities replicate Reach's apprenticeship-based degrees. She is also a founder of the Coalition Network, which partners with venture capital funds to connect senior leaders with startups where their expertise is uniquely valuable.
Mallory holds a Ph.D. in Education from Oxford University, which she attended as a Rhodes Scholar. Her dissertation explored the labor shortage in the rural South and the role of Teach for America as a supplementary source of educators. She also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was recognized as a Social Enterprise Fellow, a Harvard Presidential Scholar, and a Goldsmith Fellow. Mallory received her B.A. from Northwestern University, summa cum laude, with a triple major in Spanish, Economics, and International Studies.

Welcome from President Ross
Welcome to Reach University. Whether you are a prospective candidate, employer, educator, alum, policymaker, collaborator, or current Reach community member, we thank you for your attention and interest.
Reach University is dedicated to advancing the Apprenticeship Degree, a ground-breaking path through higher education for workers seeking to reach their full potential and communities seeking to address high-demand labor shortages, starting with the urgent need for K12 teachers.
As an institution created by teachers, we think of our deliverables as a new set of the "3Rs."
The first R is the Reach Method, our groundbreaking approach to overcoming the obstacles to degree attainment. We seek to deliver fully job-embedded programs that are efficient, flexible, relevant, affordable, and grounded in conferring professional capital.
The second R is Representation. Through high-touch collaboration with our employer partners, we turn the workplace into a learning place specifically so that underrepresented talent can rise up and skill up without leaving their jobs or home community.
And the third R stands for Replication. In Spring 2024 we launched the National Center for the Apprenticeship Degree (NCAD) to facilitate widespread replication of the Apprenticeship Degree through extensive collaboration and the sharing of best practices with other higher education institutions.
I encourage you to learn more about Reach University’s Apprenticeship Degree programs, our employer partners, our collaborators at other colleges and universities, and our outstanding faculty, staff, and administrators who work with more than 2,000 candidates and 300+ communities across the nation.
Thank you for your support of Reach University. We look forward to transforming higher education together with you.
