Introducing Reach University's newest Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Malekah Salim-Morgan!
Simply put, Dean Salim-Morgan leads with love and lives with joy. Malekah is a product of Louisiana's public schools and spent her entire PK-12 career, spanning over 25 years, serving schools with the greatest needs. Her roles of service included regular and special education teacher, content coach, literacy coach, TAP© master teacher, assistant principal, principal, and principal supervisor.
Prior to joining the Reach University's Teachers College, Dean Salim-Morgan served the students, families, and educators of Louisiana as the Deputy Assistant Superintendent of School Improvement for the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE), a position from which she retired from in 2023.
Malekah holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Grambling State University in Grambling, L a Master’s of Education in School Administration from Louisiana State University - Shreveport, and is pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Learning and Organizational change from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She is a 2020 graduate of the Louisiana Superintendents Academy and is a graduate of the 2021 class of Leadership Jefferson.
Because she is a lead learner, Malekah enjoys reading and conducting research on topics centered on diversity, educational equity, registered apprenticeships, and urban education. Though passionate about education, Malekah’s greatest blessings come from being the wife of Paxton and the doting mother of their four amazing children: Khalil (22), Khiry (20), Naima (17), and Kamal (15).
